Kite Festival in Gujarat, India

Gujarat announces a two day holiday for this festival just to fly kites!

During this festival, Patang Bazaar (a kite market) is open 24 hours!

Imagine how many kites are up in the air even if only 1% of 65 million people in Gujarat fly kites at the festival!

Kites were first developed in ancient China more than 2000 years ago.

The aeroplane is a development of the kite.

More adults in the world fly kites than children!

Festival of colours, Holi, India

Holi is probably the most colourful festival in the world!

Like Diwali, Holi is a celebration of the victory of good over evil.

On the eve of Holi, people gather around a bonfire with their finest clothes.

The next day, they wear their oldest clothes to get coloured.

Years ago, people used to play Holi with the ashes from the bonfire. Aren’t colours more fun!

Did you know, blue is the most popular colour in the world.
